The journey of Birrang

Celebrating strength and connection through art

The Office of the Public Guardian commissioned Wiradjuri artist Jordana Angus to create Birrang (2016), a captivating artwork that reflects the journeys of the people we support. Meaning 'journey' in Wiradjuri language, Birrang symbolises the challenges faced by our clients and the strength, safety and stability they draw upon to move forward.

This powerful piece embodies OPG's commitment to fostering hope and resilience for those navigating life's complexities. Elements of Birrang have also inspired OPG's Visual Identity, with its themes woven throughout our branding to honour the artwork's message of connection and empowerment.
